Nobody can.

But. In my opinion we are told to lie low for 12 weeks. Then we are allowed to get back to 'normal'. Then we get told to lie low. Then we actually get back to our new normal.

Thus meaning we've all been infecting each other. We lie low to give the NHS and us time to deal with it. We then all reinfect each other. We give the NHS time to deal with it.

Life goes on. And, hopefully we'll start bitching about Brexit again.

6 to 12 months I'd say a return to normality, societty ceases to function after a while, and it cant afford to.

They need to have a level of contamination to organise for us to have an immunity.

OhioOhioOhio · 18/03/2020 22:29

And they need for us to keep the economy going by giving it a boost in 12 weeks, for at least a little while.

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 18/03/2020 22:34

We all need to get it. But not at the same time

So yes, it will be as above.

In Singapore they managed to find everyone infected but it reared it’s head again. It has to run its course

The (at the time bonkers sounding) herd immunity is the only way.

I say this an absolute nobody with no knowledge Grin

Spanish Flu pandemic lasted the best part of 3 years. 3 waves.

This will probably not go on that long, given science has taken great strides since. Positive noises on vaccines/antibody tests already. But it could do.

Meanwhile, regarding exit strategy, China has to come out of hiding soon - so all eyes on them. We are watching & hopefully learning!
