Annoyed at people telling you you are overreacting to being in at risk group

Anyone else pissed off about people's reaction. Everyone thought I was crazy for taking dc out of school.
They thought the schools wouldn't shut and the gov were doing the right thing.
And yet the schools will likely shut and our school has a case.
I'm asthmatic and this person insists I'm overreacting /health anxiety!!
And yet they obviously haven't read the advice to socially distance and clearly cannot accept that I was right. (I'm not even saying I told you so ). Just really don't need to be told symptoms (that lots of others are getting like breathlessness are anxiety) and I should shut up.

I don't think it's unreasonable to want to try to avoid getting it when asthmatic and
There may not be enough beds
Having a pre-existing condition might make treatment less likely.

It really is bringing the worst out in people.

I agree. I really wish they would just close so that it removes all of that. We have 1 high risk, 2 very high risk. People saying to me it’s just the flu feels like gas lighting.

Some people are both lacking in empathy and have poor capacity around risk assessment Hmm

I agree but think about risk assessment it's been hard to know the risk as they weren't testing everyone. Plus with kids at school they could have had people back from half term in EU.
And BBC and other news were playing it down and info was suppressed on other SM.
Just don't see the need for people to be nasty when it is a reasonable concern.

Yes sister. It might be like a cold or fly to them.
I don't personally fancy a 6% chance of death in next few months when I have young dc. And having asthma I know what it's like to struggle to breathe but usually Antibiotics would help. And anyway no-one I'm sure wants to make their lung function even worse.
They ought to have said weeks ago to take kids out of you have an underlying condition. Now is rather late
