How long do you think it'll be until food stocks are better?

Surely at some point most people will have to think they have enough loo roll or baked beans to last a month or 2 and stop!

I know the supermarkets say they keep restocking but from posts I see it's going out again as fast as it comes in.

It was better today than yesterday although I only went into one supermarket. I couldn't get carrots or a certain brand of deodorant (ordered online instead now, that's the deo not the carrots!) but was able to get milk and bread.

Well, a friend is a distribution hub coordinator and she says they have stock but some of it is going out early... green bananas will be a common sight. They have food coming in too.

I spoke to an ex student today, he works at Tesco. He's a bit shell shocked. They had a huge queue at 6am and by 7.30 many shelves were empty... any restocking was also gone by 9am.

They had lots of everything... and will have again overnight.

It isn't stick that is low, it is the thought processes of people in panic mode!

The supermarkets are also putting a buy limit on deliveries. I was checking my delivery for Saturday to see what if anything was missing and trying to find substitutes and Tescos are limiting bottled water to 2 bottles per order. I'm sure the same will apply on other popular items.

They need to protect the farmers and livestock produces, but the livestock producers and butchers say the abattoirs workers health are also priority. Fishermen, lorry drivers, delivery drivers, cafe/restaurants to become takeaway and deliver to local elderly and community.

New jobs in the new expanding distribution chain will open up.

The supply chain we have for the food and goods we've got used to is fairly robust in normal times, but bloody fragile in times of disruption like this.

I would rather have rationing than the current ridiculous free-for-all where spivs are profiteering and others are without basics.
