Can you go to work if your pregnant?
Rosebel · 18/03/2020 14:37
If your pregnant is okay to go to work? I'm self isolating until next Friday anyway due my children coughing but will I be okay afterwards? I can't work from home and work with the public. Can't seen to get a certain answer from anyone. If I have to take 12 weeks off I'll be in maternity leave by then.

My employer has said pregnant employees should not come in.
Pindlesandneedles · 18/03/2020 14:49
I’m not, I’m working from home and will do so until my maternity leave starts in about a month. I hope you’re ok and that your employer is supportive.
GrumpyHoonMain · 18/03/2020 14:50
No. Most employers are encouraging pregnant women to call in sick or work from home.

Course you can. Social distancing is strongly recommended and that includes working from home of possible so if it's not possible then you need to go to work and take extra precautions

I’ve personally being on self isolation since Friday cause I feel like it’s too risky to go to work as I have to take the tube/walk in central. I’m receiving SSP. It’s not ideal but I don’t want to risk getting the virus while pregnant. They say it won’t hurt the baby but There’s also very little researches done so far..

I am a senior nurse in A&E, my trust have told all pregnant staff to stay at home
Rosebel · 18/03/2020 17:53
What extra precautions would you suggest? I already wash my hands every chance I get. I can't exactly not speak to customers or keep away from them.
Work were unhelpful when I spoke to them and wouldn't say if they thought I should come in or not. I think they want me to come in but don't want to be responsible if something happens

Hi, new to this site and just looking for reassurance and trying to understand my position at the moment. I’m a healthcare worker for the NHS and have a young child at home. I’m also 4 months pregnant and absolutely going out of my mind. As a healthcare i assist in washing etc of patients and isn’t possible to work from home. Is anyone else in a similar position? I don’t want to let work down but i don’t want too put my babies at risk, i mean if i refused could i loose my job? So fed up with it all x
