Decision on schools closure coming 'imminently'

From Guardian reporting on PMQs -

'Johnson pays tribute to teachers, and thanks them for their work in keeping schools open. He says further decisions will be taken “imminently” on schools, that will square the circle of stopping the spread of the disease, while wanting to relief the pressure on the NHS.'

Scottish news on schools also expected soon apparently.

I’m not sure how delayed exams would work.

My y11 haven’t finished the spec yet. Y13 have, but we haven’t looked closely at exam technique yet.

So when would l prepare mine? How would they fit into a school that had just started a new academic year. I don’t think there would be enough physical space.

And unfortunately whether parents or kids are happy or unhappy with it, it is what it is. Better a predicted grade than none at all.

There’s not much else they can do.

its just exams!! can be done anytime

Guess you don’t have a child in year 11 or 13 who has spent the last few months working towards exams.

Year 11 can hardly wait till next year, schools won’t have them, they’re too old. College can’t take teach them gcse and start them in A level courses at the same time.

It’s a worry

I’m not sure it is a worry. I think if you Dont k ow the system then it might be. But every year, loads of kids don’t sit an exam for one reason it another. It’s normal.

Whilst l understand about disappointment, I don’t think anyone is going to end up without a grade. Everyone will receive a grade.

And a grade that reflects their ability. We don’t just conjure them out of mid air.

All kids have targets based on previous attainment. These will help guide us too.
