Or was there frantic panic buying and shelves empty?!

Just wondering as shopping here is more stressful than the virus for me. I have a baby and had spent half my day off visiting 5 supermarkets to find a pack or nappies. Not just nappies but so many things i need to make a family meal I can't get my hands on. I honestly can't keep doing this.

I bet the Germans are bloody brilliant at organising themselves in a crisis.
I think the main problem is the supermarket are unregulated in terms of allowing people to over buy. It would be good if there could be some way of stopping the supermarkets cashing in in times of crisis, and rationing amounts a lot more quickly. People I know who work in supermarkets were saying to management days ago that they need to ration per customer but management wouldn't, because profit is all.

One of my good friends is German who recently moved back to Germany after over a decade of living here. She just couldn't manage here or have a decent work life balance. Having no family help and huge childcare costs forced her back home. The system is so much more supportive over there. As someone who also has two kids and with both parent working FT and paying huge childcare costs and high rent, I am really envious. I think this situation will really shine a light on how governments are willing to help their people and what their priorities are.
