Panicking... quarantine??

Anyone around? I haven’t posted for ages but I have the worst anxiety this evening. Long story but I moved a friend’s car this morning and she has since tested positive for Covid 19. I probably don’t need to be panicking because I didn’t see her, she hadn’t been in the car for 24+ hours and I used hospital sterilising wipes on the car steering wheel/gear stick and scrubbed my hands with hot water, soap, used alcohol sanitizer... but do I need to isolate? I feel like such a muppet. BlushSad

Are you particularly at risk ? Existing health problems ? Age ?

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 18/03/2020 01:27

Not at all. 35, no pre-existing health conditions. Not worried about me... it’s the idea of giving it to anyone else!

No, you did everything right, you’d be more likely to catch it from picking up a loaf of bread in the supermarket. You don’t need to isolate just from this, just keep up your current measures

OneStepOneStumble · 18/03/2020 01:29

Advice I was given somewhere was instead of wondering if you've got it, act like you already have it and don't want to pass it on. If in doubt. Isolate.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 18/03/2020 01:31

That’s definitely what I needed to hear! My DH was so cross with me. But my poor friend is in hospital and I was just trying to help. Sad

Would 111 or a GP give advice?

You'll be fine.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 01:37

No 111 and GP’s are too busy with people showing symptoms. Please don’t bother them

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 01:39

If you develop a persistent cough or fever then is the time to contact them, but they’ll only advice you to isolate yourself. Until then stop panicking as you’ve no reason to think you are infected

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 18/03/2020 01:39

Thinking about it, the doctors knew that my friend might have covid 19... and surely they wouldn’t have sterilised and handed the keys to me if it could have left me needing to isolate?

I’ve been treated but have a bit of health anxiety after a difficult birth and aftermath a few years ago.

OP you are fine

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 18/03/2020 01:44

Really not worried about me... anxious about passing it on. But I’m sure you are right. I did the same things as doctors and nurses are doing every day.
