Dentist for baby's first teeth?
Mmsnet101 · 17/03/2020 20:03
My little one has just broken 3 teeth through at once. The health visitor and dentist (when I was in for my own checkup a few months ago) drummed into me the importance of getting their teeth checked as soon as they come through.
However would you still go, given the current situation with covid19? I'm now wondering if dentists should even be open other than for emergencies at the moment (ours definitely is)?
Is the checkup worth the risk?

I’ve always just taken mine when I’ve had appointments. For the first few visits they just tried to get them used to the chair and the lights. Your tiny baby will not be missing out if you don’t have a check/up for a while.

You can get the babies teeth checked later. No rush. It’s only once a year to get teeth checked. And it’s a quick check.
I took my son just before he was 1 as he had no teeth and then more recently as he turned 2.
It’s also to get babies and young ones used to the dentist and having someone check their gums and teeth.
