I've just read that cerebral palsy is on the list of conditions that make you 'vulnerable' to the virus.
I have it. Mine is fairly mild - I can walk unaided, but have weakness, tightness and poor muscle tone and co-ordination on the left side of my body. It doesn't affect my daily life a great deal except that some tasks I find more difficult and do more slowly, although I do avoid jobs/activities that I'm not capable of - it was much more obviously limiting when I was in school and expected to do what everyone else did.
I also know very little about my own condition because my parents thought it was better not to tell me anything about it when I was a child, and for the majority of my adult life I haven't had a GP/other medical care (different issue, not relevant to cerebral palsy/this thread).
Anyway, I saw it on the list and had a little panic, and I know there are lots of knowledgeable people here. Does anyone know why it's on the list - what it is that makes you more vulnerable? Is it something that would really only apply to people with more severe cerebral palsy who might have mobility and communication difficulties, or is it something about the nature of the disability itself?
I couldn't find anything specific online. Hoping to calm down, and be better informed and know what I'm dealing with.
