If my 13yo has to have a flu jab every year because of her asthma is she meant to socially isolate? Or is that only adults?

The advice is for social distancing, not isolating, and that goes for everyone but people in at risk groups should take the precautions particularly seriously.

From the announcement yesterday I thought he said just adults, but the nhs website doesn't say that.

NHS says any age I think.

Not sure what to do either.

It’s hard to understand. It seems to be unclear. And do I keep all the children off if she is off?

He said adults- but I've kept Ds 12 off school today and inside.

Sent others in - but might kept primary one of tommow but other one has GCSE exams in few weeks so will still send in for now.

There's been no advice saying they should be kept off school.

The social distancing measures are here:

They are expecting to announcer tighter restrictions for the 'shield group'*probably by the weekend, and I expect that'll mean isolation.

  • ie the over 70s plus those of any age with certain medical conditions, plus - though less well publicised but mentioned in at least one Govt doc - the seriously obese BMI >40)

Thanks for the replies. I’ve asked a doctor and they said that she can go in providing she has no symptoms.
