Covid
Muscle pain

I'm aware this isn't a doctor run site but any advice or knowledge will be greatly received.
I have for the last three hours been in pain with my right upper arm. It feels like the muscle is really aching and weak. I can lift my arm but the ache just really gets to me at times. It isn't constant it wears off then the tingling will
Start and the ache will radiate through the upper arm then wear off after a few mins. I have been rubbing it it try and alleviate the pain.
I am at college and this started just after starting my first lesson I have no recollection of pulling the muscle. it just started.
I have no paracetamol in my bag and no shops have any available. I would only be taking it to stop the pain because I just don't like dealing with any pain at all, not because it's absolutely aching.
So my question is, can I have no other symptoms of coronavirus but have the muscle pain? I have read it's a symptom but thought if I would get any it would be another of the ones listed.
Has anybody else got upper arm muscle pain and have started isolating in case it's coronavirus?
Sorry if the answer is blatant I feel I have kept updating with the news but googling muscle pain and coronavirus didn't give much help.
Thanks in advance to anybody that reads this and comments

I know 111 is inundated but I would seek proper medical advice. Arm pain can (rarely) be a symptom of a heart issue.
How are you now?
Popuppippa · 17/03/2020 14:02
Do you have a high temperature and a persistent cough?
Upper arm pain is not a symptom of covid-19.

I've been knackered for about 10 days now and the last 5 I've had what felt like a pulled muscle in my upper back. There's another forum post on here where a few ppl have had similar symptoms and wondering if it is corona. So it might well be!
Only other things I've noticed is a couple if hot flushes, a 1/10 sore throat the last couple of evenings along with the odd sniff. Oh and mild heartburn sensation. Wouldn't have thought anything of them if it wasnt for seeing that post though. Might have wondered if I was due a cold.
So it could well be!
Back is killing me :(

Oh but also: it could just be a result if your bra strap constricting your shoulder. Happened to me at work once - does the pain hurt less when you raise your arm up (like you want yo ask someone a question?). If so, it might be that.

Weirdly I have had exactly the same thing recently. No Covid symptoms though. Thought maybe a pulled/trapped muscle as I tend to carry my (heavy!) baby with the affected arm!
JellyTots2009 · 17/03/2020 17:18
It has calmed down the last hour or so but it can come on quickly. Reading a comment above about a PP carrying a baby on that arm, I carry a shoulder bag on that arm which is full of stuff for college and daily living things.
But I'm not sure if my shoulder (where the bag sits) and my outer bicep area would be linked ?
I'm sure I read muscle pain was a symptom of coronavirus? That's to a PP
Wanderlust21 · 17/03/2020 18:44
I think if it is just your outer bicep in it's own it probably isn't cv. The reason I thought my back pain might be is that it is behind the lung kinda area.
Muscle pain is yes but generally you would expect that to mean all-over aches not just one random one wouldn't you?
Let's hope we both just have pulled muscles xD
Wanderlust21 · 17/03/2020 18:46
Ps: I've been finding a hot shower on it helps (like as hot as you can stand to have it run over that area, for about ten min) ..for maybe an hour if you are lucky. Handy before you try to sleep.

The muscle pain associated with viral illness is usually most noticeable in the large muscle groups like the thighs and back (because they are larger) although most muscle might be affected to some extent.
serialtester · 17/03/2020 19:03
I'm in SI with suspected coronavirus. The muscle pain/ache is basically all over - particularly my thighs and back.

Ah thanks for the replies.
I didn't know if muscle ache was localised but seems pretty much all over for some of you.
I will keep an eye out for the other symptoms and fingers crossed they don't arrive
