If your child is sent home from school with a cough and temp. The school said to self isolate for 14 days this then means the whole family self isolate for 14 days am i right with that? Friend said she's not self isolating and still planning on going ahead with her mother's day plans. This is not me. - I believe she is so wrong makes me want to scream. I've told her she needs to.

Of course she needs to, how selfish can people be, it will cost lives. But the government are also to blame by not shutting restaurants , pubs , schools and enforcing a full lock down.

Bet the selfish cow has got a mountain of bog roll in

My DSS was here this weekend. He was coughing. He's been sent home from school and told to self isolate.

Called my work and asked what I should do. They said as he was only here 2 days and nights, I'm ok to go in 🤷🏼‍♀️ as he doesn't live with us full time.

Buttons4me · 17/03/2020 13:33

I know I feel like naming and shaming this person. How could she be so selfish.

@Chesneyhawkes1 I’m in a similar situation in that my children spent their weekend with their dad and their stepbrother has now been sent home from school and told to isolate for 14 days. As my DCs spent the weekend there we are doing so too.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 17/03/2020 14:59

@Instamaticstars work have just called back. I'm so self isolate too now

Floralnomad · 17/03/2020 15:01

Perhaps her Mother’s Day plans only include her immediate family at one of their homes and they are all aware of the risks and happy to go ahead .

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/03/2020 15:02

I thought guidelines atm were even if one person in the household is suspected to have cv, the rest of the household Don tneed to isolate?

Haworthia · 17/03/2020 15:03

We’re all fucking doomed.

Lynda07 · 17/03/2020 15:03

I think your friend needs to self isolate too although her child's problem probably isn't Corona.

However, for goodness sake, don't report. I don't think you will even though you may feel like it. We haven't yet got to the stage yet of grassing up friends.

My DD has the symptoms and school have said to self isolate DD and her sister for 14 days this also includes myself self isolating for them obvious reason and having to also be at home
To care for them.

ShouldIStaySelfIsolated · 17/03/2020 15:05

@iminaglasscaseofemotion. No, that changed yesterday. The government is making announcements every day now. You need to keep up with them so you dont inadvertently make a mistake and go out when advised not to

Haworthia · 17/03/2020 15:05

The guidelines, announced yesterday, were that the entire household self isolate for 14 days if one person develops symptoms. How have you missed this?

Buttons4me · 17/03/2020 15:08

@Floralnomad she's going out for Afternoon Tea. I've cancelled plans going out for sunday dinner forMothers Day with kids and parents.

@ShouldIStaySelfIsolated yes, I read the new guidance earlier. Thanks for the advice though, not patronising at all 🙄
