Party in a month's time

I've organised a party for my DD's first birthday in just over a months time. I know no one has a crystal ball but it's not going to happen, is it?

The party was meant to be in a room in a bar, we paid a £50 deposit. I'm torn about whether to ask for deposit back if we cancel. We will be hit financially by this whole thing, but I feel the people in hospitality will be hit much worse so I feel guilty about asking.

WWYD?

I wouldn’t go ahead with it, half the country will be in isolation by then anyway. I very much doubt you get your deposit back unless the government close pubs and then their insurance will cover it

They'd said at the time of booking that we would get deposit back as long as we give at least two weeks notice of cancellation.

ask for it back

£50 is never going to make a difference to them, but will to you
