Visiting elderly parents

I was going to go down to London to see my parents with my DC. They came back from holiday a couple of weeks ago, so they haven't seen the DCs for months (holiday in our country of origin so they were there for a while).
But it looks like it might not be a good idea. My DF is 83 and has COPD and my mother is 76.
I would have to travel 2hrs on a train and tube to get there. I think the risk is too high, especially for my father, we could infect him unknowingly.
But they really want to see us and will be disappointed. But it's a no no isn't it?
I don't know when I'm going to see my parents again....

I wouldn't. Protecting them is far more important.

I wouldn't, dc could unwittingly pick up all sorts on the Tube etc and be unaware.
It isn't an essential trip.

I wouldnt

They should be in self isolation which means no visitors. You can leave stuff outside their door. You can phone, you can skype. We have similar issue. But visiting could kill them

ChrisPrattsFace · 17/03/2020 13:59

I wouldn’t. It’s not worth the risk!

I’m being pressured into visiting my MIL and husbands grandparents. They have almost everything on the ‘underlying condition’ list and this whole house is sick at the minute.
I’ve said no, because I would hate to give anything to any of them including to MIL who would then pass it on.
I’m being told I’m selfish for not letting them see DS.
You won’t do right for wrong in these situations. Do what you feel is right, and keep up to date with guidance!

Yeah it's the sensible thing to do. Thanks

It is a no no, you're right though I totally sympathise because it's horrible.
