Hi all,
Coronavirus is really awful and terrifying especially for vulnerable people. I’m finding im getting quite anxious about it and have been trying to think of the silver linings/ glass half full point of view: does anyone else have any that I haven’t thought of?

  • reduced pollution
  • families spending more time together with home working - this is especially true for us as DH usually only sees the kids just before bed but now he’s working at hone
  • maybe I’ll lose some weight as I can’t go to cafes / restaurants Grin

Would love to see thoughts from others to help me stay positive in these difficult times

Stay safe x

Refunds from holidays, cancelled theatre tickets etc will total over £1k. Factoring in money that won't be spent on meals out, social functions etc then we're going to come out of this financially healthy (I am very grateful that our jobs are secure).
DD says we'll come out of this with healthy hair as we won't bother using our straighteners as much.
I'm hoping that the garden and garage will be looking tidy as well.

DH has just pointed out that there’ll be less washing as no work shirts and school uniforms and no one will know if we wear grubby clothes for a few days longer than would be acceptable in social company!

So far this actually the thing that I’m most pleased about: global pollution receding great but less washing yippee!!!

Ds's hair is going to get long by the time we're done self isolating and we'll see his lovely curls properly.

Knowing I can finally save for my universal credit fund, so I don’t have to worry at long last.

Schools are now shutting, glass half full for me is that it gets DD out of the bad situation she was in (isolation at the moment and she's so much better already). Not sure I wanted something like this to happen though.

If we go into lockdown, I won’t have to put a bra on.
I have a legitimate excuse to avoid my mother.

My DD asked if she can wear a mermaid top, her swimming shorts and pink hair spray: of course - it’s not like we’re going any where today!

Not exactly seeing any added benefits, but nevertheless counting my blessings: a big house with a garden to potter about in and a climbing frame so that DC can get some exercise. Also grateful for small mercies such as video chatting and hopefully having enough food to last a fortnight and 78 paracetomol tablets (not boxes), should our family be struck.
