Will sisters wedding be forced to postpone?
Toomuchtooyoung01 · 17/03/2020 09:45
My sister is getting married in 2.5wks, fair sized wedding. Do you think its likely to be able to go ahead in view of the recent advice regarding large gatherings? I have a newborn and a toddler and am worried about exposing them to anything, but obviously feel i can't not go to the wedding.

I'm assuming the venue will actually postpone the wedding.

Most Irish weddings have been cancelled during the next few weeks. The UK seems to be a week or so behind ireland in terms of measures so I'd guess it won't go ahead.

if anyone has any sense, yes. We'll be heading for the peak risk then and why would anyone want to risk those closest to you, who would be attending? Maybe have the wedding with a couple of witnesses and a reception next year

The archbishop of Canterbury has just announced publix worship is suspended temporarily but weddings can go ahead? Is it just me that finds this contradictory and confusing?

My sister is in this boat and was fearing she’d have to cancel (and lose £10,000). Luckily, the venue and most suppliers have agreed to postpone the wedding for a few months, which is a big relief. I hope it can go ahead in the autumn, although who can see that far ahead at the moment?
