... can they leave the house 7 days after they first show symptoms, while everyone else needs to stay in quarantine for another 7 days? This link seems to imply that: 111.nhs.uk/Question/Navigation
Asking as my son has been in self-isolation for 4 days already and would really like to go back to school - but I do want to do the right thing... What do yous all think?

That link doesn't work by the way.
I would be interested to know the answer though.

That's how I'm reading it at the moment.

If the whole house is in self isolation.
Its for 14 days. Regardless
Boris Johnson said that today

111.nhs.uk/service/COVID-19/
Tango - that's what I thought, but if you follow the link to 'Staying at Home' it seems to say different. Confused! (Normally I'd call 111, but they have enough to deal with...)

14 days for the whole house BUT if someone comes down with it on a day between day 8 and day 14 then they need to isolate for a further week from that day.

So if Dad gets it on 1st April and his daughter gets it on 9th April then her quarantine would start on 9th April so she (and ideally the household) needs to quarantine for at least a week from then so until 16th April, if his son catches it on 11th April then he should be quarantined until at least 18th April.
