Pregnant Police Officer

With the latest announcement in relation to pregnant people self isolating, it's left me feeling rather anxious about what to do.

I'm very early on in my pregnancy and as a police officer - we are expected to keep calm and carry on.

Any other pregnant police officers been given any advice?

Working at home is obviously their last resort.

My sister in law is a police officer and her sergeant has told her not to go to work. She is further on though. 30ish weeks.

Have you spoken to your line manager about it? I'm a (not pregnant) police officer but I imagine they will let you work from home and give you some telephone resolution type crime to deal with. Better safe than sorry.

My colleague was sent home today, she's 8 months pregnant.

Thank you for the responses. I personally don't think it's worth the risk so hoping for an update this afternoon.

Hey I'm a police officer and 31 weeks pregnant. Are you frontline?
Talk to your line manager they should be arranging for you to work from home/agile where possible

I'm not front line I'm child protection. There are options to work from home but I think they're reluctant to do it. It's a scary time and no wants to put themselves or their unborn at risk .

I'm currently in HQ our inspector told me last night I was to wfh. It might be worth a discreet discussion with your Sgt or inspector. It's so hard early on and I know you don't necessarily want people knowing but you must look after you and baby. PM if you want to chat

I have told my sergeant and inspector. They do not know what to advise and they are waiting for the public health announcement and until then I'm to stay at work.
I think it's terrible - as the government have already given the advice.

@iddybiddymum they are meant to support you altering hours or working from home where possible. That is the advice for pregnant women x

I am aware of the guidelines they are just reluctant to make a decision. I think I will say I am not putting myself at unnecessary risk from tomorrow and go from there.
Think they are waiting for the 4pm conference
