I'd welcome anyone's thoughts. It's looks like tomorrow will be my last day in the office before we all have to work from home.

I have a lady who provides daycare for my doggie, five days a week. It costs me over £400 a month.

If I'm going to be at home I don't need her to have the dog during the day and it would obviously save me a lot of money (which I may need).

However, I'm conscious that this lady pays her own mortgage and bills through her dog walking/ dog daycare business. She is single (no kids).

My notions would be;

1. stop the daycare until further notice
2. cut down the daycare
3. just have her walk the dog once a day (half the cost of daycare)

What would you all do?

If you’re working from home, I would go for option 3. That way, you keep your doggy daycare for when this is all over. I’m sure this lady is worrying about her income but I would consider 3 to be a compromise.

I would discuss with her and gauge how she feels about just walking the dog (as if this is still useful to you it seems a fair compromise?)

I’d go to just the dog walk, half the cost, split the difference.

Check what the arrangements are for payment etc if she is unable to provide service if she becomes unwell/has to self-isolate

Also plan what you will do if you have to self-isolate.
