Are you taking your kids out of school?

DC2 (2yr old) has a runny nose, fever and a bit of a cough (think coughs 3-4 times at night sometimes once or twice through the day) - I am 99.9% sure it's just a cold as he is fine and happy an breathing normal.

Taking into consideration governments most recent advice we at looking at taking DC1 out of reception and self isolating for two weeks which will take is through to Easter holidays as of tomorrow.

A part of me feels upset and a bit weepy and very unsettled and anxious for some reason but it's probably down to the current unrest and changes in routine and finances we will be expecting.

Anyone else in a similar boat?

The advice is if you have cough or fever self isolate for 14 days. Whats so hard to understand?

Of course you should take them out and self isolate as a household for 2 weeks.

The advice is pretty clear on this.

Yes. Not because he’s ill, I just don’t see a need for him to be there. School understand and support, loads of kids out from today and work has been set.

I think you’re doing the right thing. I’ve been very blasé up until now but am now starting to get more anxious.
I’m not currently planning on taking mine out before needing to but at the same time I feel such an urge to protect them it feels wrong to send them.

Mine are both perfectly healthy, luckily, but I’m very pregnant now and dp is asthmatic so both in the higher risk category and I’ve now been made to self isolate from work which has prompted my anxieties a little bit.

Keep them out for now OP and enjoy an extended Easter SmileFlowers

Same position with preschoolers -- all staying in for 14 days.

School emailed last night to say they're closed, effective immediately, as they cannot meet the staffing levels needed. You may find that your school won't be open much longer anyway.

It is extremely unsettling, especially as the 4yo has ASD, and so now all the EHCP planning is on hold. He needs routine so we'll try and do that with us both WFH but the next few months are likely to be very difficult
