Selfish bloody colleague of DH!

Said colleague’s daughter is meant to be in self-isolation as her boyfriend has been in contact with a confirmed case in our area. The boyfriend stayed over at their house this weekend.

The daughter is meant to self isolate but apparently the advice given to the colleague is that he/wife/other child can all carry on as normal and go to work/school?! The colleague told my husband that they haven’t changed their routine as ‘it’s fine’ but the daughter is using her own towels Hmm

DH and other colleagues have told him to stay away but he won’t.

I don’t understand this advice- if one person in the household needs to self isolate, surely everyone does? They’ve been in contact (or at least in the same house potentially touching the same surfaces) with the boyfriend so why aren’t they having to self-isolate?

We have a baby at home and I’m really cross with the colleague/Government advice.

Oh and DH couldn’t stay home because he’s part of the emergency services before anyone suggests he stays off.

To be fair they are following the correct advice, and because they haven't been told to self isolate/don't have symptoms they may not get any kind of sick pay. It's bizarre but that's the current advice right now 🤷🏻‍♀️

But surely this is conflicting advice? How can only one person need to self isolate when they’ve all been in contact with the boyfriend? I just don’t get it.

I don't think anyone gets it 🤷🏻‍♀️
