I know it's not about health in general but it is related to the virus somehow. What could be a good present for someone who is self-isolating now?

A 3D puzzle, there are some great ones.

SurpriseSparDay · 16/03/2020 09:29

Veg box subscription.

Upgrade to any less than up-to-date home entertainment systems. Better radio if that matters to them, etc.

Luxury versions of their drink of choice.

Hot water bottle.

What else would I want? ... Oh, yes: a bottle of one of my favourite perfumes would give me hope for the future ...

Caramel78 · 16/03/2020 09:31

A magazine subscription (you can get digital ones which download to your phone).

tinnitusagain · 16/03/2020 09:33

24 loo rolls and a huge bag of pasta?

What about a magazine subscription like Readly (I think that's the name), I used to have it and it was fab. Loads of different magazines for all interests.

CircleofWillis · 16/03/2020 09:34

Amazon or Netflix subscription.

DameXanaduBramble · 16/03/2020 09:55

A sub to Readly - all magazines under one app.

5zeds · 16/03/2020 09:57

I would love a bunch of beautiful flowers to look out. If you're confined to one room it would be nice to make it look pretty.

slipperywhensparticus · 16/03/2020 10:04

Drugs (lock down week 2 in case anyone is keeping score I know I am)

APurpleSquirrel · 16/03/2020 10:08

Plants (The Gluttonous Gardener is very good but pricey)
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, AppleTV, etc

LouQoo · 16/03/2020 10:12

Nice food / chocolates

Alcohol

Good book, if you know them well enough to choose something for them.

heathspeedwell · 16/03/2020 10:16

If they have a garden get them some seeds. Now is a great time to plant flowers on a sunny windowsill and it's a source of daily joy to see them germinating and coming on.

I've been leaping out of bed every morning to check on my little trays of seedlings, they really bring a sense of hope for the future.

Sweetener12 · 16/03/2020 10:55

Adult coloring books are a good idea, they really distract from sad thoughts.
Netflix or Deezer subscription or subscription to some funny program like collage makers.
Or just order some tasty food to bright up one of their evenings :)

Sgtmajormummy · 16/03/2020 11:01

I agree with ordering flowers or a pot plant. I’ve intentionally bought some at the start of their life so we see the change every morning.

Sgtmajormummy · 16/03/2020 11:04

I’d also love a cosy pair of slippers. Crocs are NOT made for wearing all day without socksConfused,

theoriginalmadambee · 16/03/2020 11:24

Can you talk to them, without asking directly try to find out if they have the food they need. If they do, then chocolate, sweets, magazine subscription (readly), anything they would see as a little extra.

We are on lock down here, and apart from food, chocolate, crisps, sweets are very much in demand in our family.

I love flowers, but right now I would appreciate edibles more Wink.

MrsHSW · 24/03/2020 20:07

Had a couple of birthdays over the last few weeks and I brought the following from Amazon:
Brew your own beer kit
Grow your own kit - I brought a mushroom kit for my dad and he was pleased with the results
Wildlife Photography at Home Book by Richard Peters

I still need ideas... so please keep them coming

Our local tearoom is doing afternoon tea delivery
Craft/model kits?

It's one of DD's friend's birthdays today and we left some unicorn slippers outside her door at the weekend. They're only 6 though so maybe not helpful!

FromTheAllotment · 24/03/2020 20:44

I’d like mini eggs please and I’m really hoping you’re one of my friends Grin

Leithwalk · 24/03/2020 20:53
