Sorry I know we are sick of these types of threads but I could do with some balanced views.

Firstly I don't have a thermometer so can't check my temp, however DJ felt my head and said I felt normal.

I have had the feeling of a chest infection coming on since Friday, tightness in chest/back and the feeling I can't get a good deep breath.
I also have a slight cough, it comes and goes through the day, not a deep cough more a 'clear your throat' type cough then maybe a few 'big coughs'.

I don't feel particularly unwell and normally would go to work if I felt like this but with the advice about self isolation I am not sure what to do, I don't want to be dramatic but nor do I want to risk passing anything to anyone.

So what is the general consensus, go to work or not?
Thanks

If you have a cough the guidance is clear. Do you have a cough? If so then DO NOT go to work and isolate for 7 days. It really is that easy!

You have a cough so you can't go to work - you need to stay home for 7 days.

Don't put others at risk.

You have a new cough. It is quite clear that you should be self-isolating for 7 days.

I think you should self isolate. I hope you're better soon

Thanks all, I work in a primary school (not a teacher) so am aware of the risks of passing things on to the children but as I don't feel "ill" it seems like a bit of an excuse/skive and I feel guilty about "jumping on a bandwagon"
