Covid
To wonder if I've had covid19?

I had a bad cold about a week ago which seemed to go onto my chest about 4 days ago. Feels like I have a fist gripped around my windpipe. No temp, no fever, but breathless and tired. I dont have asthma but do find colds go to my chest fairly easily.
I'm just shy of 40, no medical issues other than anxiety which I take meds for.
Husband been working in London for last few weeks and comes home regularly. He has had irritating cough, cold, tiredness for a couple of days then back to normal, but he never gets ill. 3 x Kids had cough too for a couple of days and then one child had D and V but no cough etc.
I just have no idea if that means we have had it or not. I've read so many reports about it being mild for most people.
Any thoughts??

The only way to know for sure would be to get tested will never be offered to you
NotForSale · 15/03/2020 19:41
No and that's the difficulty I imagine for most people. If we are not testing how will we know if we get it mild?
Ffsnosexallowed · 15/03/2020 19:44
@NotForSale, you won't. You just have to self isolate.
scrivette · 15/03/2020 19:44
It's of people will have it/have had it and will never know, like possibly you have.

In the same boat. So many symptoms but complicated by a slightly snotty nose but nothing like I usually get. DH who is quite hardcore said I was proper grotty. I read the descriptions of the mild sufferers and it's just like I was. 2 weeks later and I'm still fatigued and a bit tight chested. Kids and husband all 'off' but nothing major
I was also in contact with someone who couldn't get a test but sounded even more text book than me.
I would love to know. For piece of mind, so I could support my dm even more, so we could help out with child care if schools shut etc.

Same here. Thought it was a bad cold/flu. Fever, dizzy, tired, achy and a weird cough.
Three weeks later only symptom is a really tight chest.
nearlynermal · 15/03/2020 21:17
Friends think they had it: slight temperature, some dry coughing, very very tired. And one of them had some breathlessness.
coronade · 15/03/2020 21:25
People that have had it or suspect they have, can symptoms drag on for a few weeks?
About 3 weeks ago I had the most painful aching legs for about 3 days. Hurt all day and night and even woke me up. Also remember feeling slightly breathless when walking up hill and slight chest pain (but nothing really). During that time and since, I’ve had headaches on and off and felt off and tired. Then runny nose started last weekend but not as much as I would normally have with a cold and now I’ve got a sore throat. No real cough just now and again. Don’t think I’ve had a temperature either but I’m at that age Shen I’m always hot.
Could this be it? I’ve had the flu jab. Just wish I knew so I could then stop worrying about catching ðŸ¦

This is me right now. DH has had a cough for 10 days now but otherwise has been fine. I’ve been spiking a mild temperature since Tuesday for no reason I can see other than this stupid dry cough for which there seems to be no reason. Today I’m utterly wiped out and a bit breathless and very very tired, and the temperature is more pronounced. I’m scared of what’s to come. Feeling there might not be any medical help if it was needed is the worst thing, but hopefully it won’t come to that.

The limited medical assistance is a worrying thought
