I am worrying that I have symptoms but don't have a bloody thermometer
Tonyaster · 14/03/2020 22:02
Our themometer is broken. Can't find another one any where.
About a month ago I had a fluey illness, awful cough, fever, loads of sinusy snot. Haven't felt right since. Cough has reappeared, pretty sure I have a mild fever (paracetamol helps). Sinuses still blocked so could be that? No idea what to do and don't want to ring 111 as they are overwhelmed!

I think a cough that’s reappeared from a month ago counts as a new cough, so that’s enough reason to self isolate for a week regardless of temperature. Hope you recover soon.

Don’t worry about it. I can tell if I have a fever without a thermometer. For me it’s a feeling of being cold to my bones, shivery, and generally awful.
You don’t need to ring 111 right now, just keep up with the paracetamol and fluids and look after yourself.

Can DH tell by touching your forehead or the back of your neck?
If you have been ill and you are still blocked up, it is likely not corona.
Tonyaster · 14/03/2020 22:07
Thanks all. I am going to dose up and stay at home. It's the blocked sinuses which don't sound like a symptom. I do have a headache though No lung issues cough is dry and irrtaiting.

From web
If you don’t have a thermometer, there are less accurate ways you can diagnose a fever.
Touch is the most popular method, but it’s also the least accurate. This is especially the case if you’re self-diagnosing.
When using touch to diagnose a fever in someone else, touch your own skin first, then compare the two temperatures. If the other person is a lot hotter than you, they may have a fever.
You can also try pinching the skin on the back of the hand to check for signs ofdehydration. If the skin doesn’t snap back quickly, you could be dehydrated. Dehydration may be a sign of a fever

Are you hot to touch, but you actually feel cold in yourself? Do you feel shivery?
It could be a sinus infection. I had sinus and ear infection last summer and wasn't right for about a month.
Ffsnosexallowed · 14/03/2020 22:15
If you are in any doubt you should err on the side of caution and self isolate for 7 days.
Tonyaster · 14/03/2020 22:17
I think its definitely a sinus thing. I'm deaf in one ear.
