Facemasks

For those that have facemasks. Either the basic fabric versions or even those that have the more industrial looking ones. At what point will you consider wearing them for your weekly shop?

There are photos of people in full hazmat gear doing the rounds online, so a facemask is not too out there.

I didn't think facemasks made a difference in catching CV?

And yet people doing testing or generally being around the infected are always seen wearing them. IMO that was said to try and reduce demand for masks so the NHS staff have enough of them, and rightly so.

WOOHOO! Corona hasn't completely possessed me! I thought of a nice bath time treat from the title.

I wouldn't wear a face mask unless I was told to.

Face masks are useful if you may have CV / respiratory symptoms. That’s why medical professionals wear them - to reduce the risk to you. They don’t do much to stop you from catching them.

Useful in reducing the risk to others

A Chinese colleague told me they were often worn in China, Singapore etc, (long before this CV crisis) to reduce passing on colds & flu etc

Hospital worker here. It has been much discussed at my work place that the mainstream masks the public are generally wearing only protect you for 15 minutes I'm afraid.
