Anyone else in a flat with no garden?

Really dreading the possibility (probability, let's face it) of lockdown. We have a 4 year old ds and live in a small flat with no garden. It is a total sweat box in summer so especially if this pandemic is ongoing for months (which it will be), it will just be awful.

We will obviously comply with it all but I'm just feeling very panicky about it. Anyone else? Most people on here seem to at least have gardens.

Yes, we're self isolating this week in a very small flat and I feel like I am going insane.

Sorry to hear that. I'm super introverted and ds is very quiet, calm and happy being indoors but this is in winter. God knows how we will cope in summer, especially with dh and I both trying to work from.home at the same time.

It is hard, I was going to do some working from home, but have been too jittery to do much. I think a real routine would certainly help, so might try and establish one tomorrow, with an exercise video when I get up, etc. Today slept in late, made a big carrot cake, got horrified by Twitter and Mumsnet, then ate a lot of the cake.

I think an exercise video and an hour writing will make me feel better, I don't know what it will be like with a four year old though.

I'd try and have a routine. Burning off energy will be tricky in a flat. My daughter loves just dance, maybe your four year old could do this for exercise?

I already wfh so I'm used to it and DS is quite good at entertaining himself

I have just had to do a week's isolation with a 3&4 yr old myself and husband. We are in a 2 bed flat with no garden. It has been a testing week, we found keeping the kids in a bit if a routine helped, but no real way of the kids burning energy.

Time to think about some active games he can play indoors.

You can try cosmic kids yoga on you tube.

There must be some dance/sports shows as well where he can join in?

We do a lot of indoor obstacle courses, sports competitions and challenges like jumping 20 times, pretending the floor is lava etc.
