Lego!

DD has suspected corona so we're on lock down. She's coughing into her elbow, we're washing hands loads etc but she's been playing Lego all day.

Should I try to clean it? Or just wait until it dies off?

I was thinking of using the dettol aerosol to blast it all (it's all over the lounge floor) but doubt I'd get any now.

If you’re on lock down you can ease off the hand washing tbh- you’ll likely get it anyway.

Have you a under -bed storage box or similar?

We got given a load of 30yr old Lego from someone's dusty attic so I soaked it all in there in dettol then strained it through a towel (in to the bath) then laid out on a dry towel to dry.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 14/03/2020 15:07

Won’t she want to play with it?

You can chuck Lego in the washing machine or dishwasher in one of those net bags.

Or just sink & washing up liquid.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about Lego as it’s likely a very small transmission risk compared to most other things.

Hope your DD feels better soon

Oh yes, in a net in the dishwasher sounds sensible 🤪 why the fuck didn't I think of that 2yrs ago

Oakmaiden · 14/03/2020 15:27

Yeah, I put mine in the washing machine. I tied it into a pillowcase.

Nquartz · 14/03/2020 15:47

@Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons I was thinking more when she's over it to prevent re-infection.

There's so much, it's spread over practically the whole lounge floor! I'll try the pillow case idea when she's better, i won't risk the tiny pieces though, if she lost her stars/flowers/money etc she'd be gutted.

We're still hand washing just in case she only has a cough & we're still at risk from getting corona.

Ahh that makes sense although surely if reinfection was a problem then the rest of the household is more of an issue.

You could put the Lego in quarantine for a week if you didn’t want to wash it? Although mine can’t even go on holiday without Lego so I can’t imagine that going down well!
