Would you self isolate in these circumstances?

I have been feeling increasingly unwell for almost 2 weeks now with a very sore throat (but no persistent cough) and extreme tiredness.
I went to the GP over a week ago and was told by a practice nurse it was tonsilitis (viral not bacterial) and would get better on its own in 3-4 days.
It didn't, it got worse (body aches, temperature, swollen glands, completely exhausted but still only coughing very occasionally) so I went back and this time was told it was Pharyngitis but again, nothing to worry about it'll get better on its own. It hasn't, if anything I've felt worse each day.

I work FT in a school. I took yesterday off as I felt so poorly, alternating between sweating and shivering, I barely moved off the sofa all day. I feel a bit better in myself this morning but still feverish so DH thinks I need to 'self isolate' for 7 days.
But school are expecting me in on Monday as when I spoke with my Line Manager yesterday she said "at least you won't need to self isolate as you've already been told it's not coronavirus". She has a point I think as the fever is not 'new', I was previously told by a HCP it was due to tonsillitis/pharyngitis and I've already been unwell for over a week at this point anyway- so if you count your 'self isolation' period from the onset of symptoms I'd be past the 7 day mark anyway if that makes sense? But DH is still adamant I should self isolate regardless.

I can't ring 111 for their opinion as we've specifically been told not to.

So who is right DH or school? My manager is already very sceptical about the number of staff who have rung in to say they're self isolating so I don't want to be seen as skiving but neither do I want to put anyone at risk.

As a teacher I wouldn't be putting the school at risk - would hate to be the one to introduce the virus to school. Surely you can ring 111 in that situation? Isn't fever the main symptom?

I wouldn't. I have an ear infection that I'm on antibiotics for and will be going to work because it's an existing fever with a diagnosed cause, not potentially Coronavirus

You don’t sound well. Stay at home.

NCTDN · 14/03/2020 08:19

Regardless of what it is you have, you are not well enough to teach 30 odd children.

NCTDN I agree. But I was hoping that if I spend this weekend getting some proper rest I may feel better on Monday.

polkadotpixie that was my thinking too. But DH is saying that since they initially diagnosed me with viral tonsillitis, then changed their mind a few days later and said pharyngitis they obviously were not certain and therefore we can't be sure it isn't Corona. He's a worrier though.
