Has anyone who voted for Boris in the General Election changed their minds about him due to his handling of the Corona virus?
I find it funny he cancelled elections, but not sporting events Hmm.

You can only vote for Boris if you lived in Uxbridge and South Ruislip

Purplewhitelie · 14/03/2020 08:00

Yes I hate to admit it!

I didn't think he would let SARS run through the population uncontained.

Yes. I've been a Boris supporter but not anymore.

I'm shocked at how this is being handled. WHO clearly don't agree.

Let's announce there will be losses to loved ones too soon and then tell the country that over 70s shouldn't go on cruises. Such a shame.

And the same experts would be standing next to Corbyn if he was leader

No

Highly unlikely that Dominic Cummings would be listened to by JC.

Lalallama · 14/03/2020 08:25

I would never vote Conservative, but for probably the first time ever I think they're making the right decisions on this one.

Also they are cancelling sporting events - the premier league, London and Manchester marathons, etc.

Exochord · 14/03/2020 08:25

I voted for Boris and I really liked him. But this complete lack of action has totally turned me off. We aren’t keeping up with other countries, our lack of response is utterly ridiculous. Is this the future - we won’t even keep up with the minimum standards of other countries?

Iwalkinmyclothing · 14/03/2020 08:27

I fucking hate and despise Johnson and think he is a genuinely appalling human being and as a politician, he is absolute scum.

I don't have much criticism to make of his and the government's handling of this. They are relying on expert advice. Yes, other governments are listening to other experts. They may be right. Our approach may be wrong (god knows this "let's get herd immunity" approach feels like a massive gamble- what the hell are we going to do if survivors don't develop immunity, for one thing). We don't know yet. We can't know.

No, she said experts. Cummings is many things. He is not an expert in managing public health crises.

MyOtherProfile · 14/03/2020 08:32

I totally agree @Iwalkinmyclothing but we can't deny that he's the main person de Pfeffer listens to so we know JC wouldn't be listening to the same advice.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 14/03/2020 08:39

I would love to be a fly on the wall in downing street these days, whatever else mr super forecaster predicted I don't think he expected this!

salty78 · 14/03/2020 08:43

Funny how JC was so unpopular because of him being a perceived threat to national security.

Now all the Boris voters are unhappy about his lack of action being a threat to national security.

I've never ever voted Tory but I too think we're taking the right approach at the moment, even if Cummings is behind it.

Helps what? I'm asking opinions. HmmGrin

I never have voted and never would vote Tory, and I think a major reason people are going to suffer is because of lack of investment in the NHS over the last ten years, but I don’t actually think the government’s response to this has been terrible.
