DD and her cough

DD (8) started with a cough tonight. She came over extremely tired and practically begged to go to bed, which is really unlike her. She is asthmatic and has needed her inhaler a lot more this evening. Her temperature is raised but she is not particularly feverish. She has a sore throat and feels unwell.

I know that whether it's corona or not I should isolate her for a week (she'll miss a party this weekend and be gutted about school).

I am 7 months pregnant, we have numerous vulnerable people in our family, a cancer patient, over eighties. People she has seen this week.

Am I right in thinking there is literally nothing I can do to get her tested? That there is nobody to call? That even if I called 111 about an asthmatic child they wouldn't do anything now?

Child with breathing difficulties definitely call

I believe so. From what I have read they are only testing people who are hospitalised. Hope she recovers soon. I presume you’ll self isolate with her? Or are you going to try to separate her within the home? (tricky with an 8 yr old!)

We're managing it with her inhaler so far, she's not at the point I would usually call yet. But I feel like we really should find out

Yes, I'll stay with her and isolate too. My partner is very concerned because of my pregnancy but apparently, there's no risk in that way. But it's another reason that I'd really like the reassurance of knowing either way

Hmm my kids have all got a streaming cold but as that's not a symptom I'm not worried. The asthmatic one has got wheezy and wanted the blue inhaler, but he nearly always does.

She hadn't got a cold or any kind or runny nose
