CentreParcs next week - would you go?

Just that really - ages ago, I booked a trip to CentreParcs for next week - have been really looking foreword to it - but now I don't know whether to go or not.
Not sure if I fancy close contact with so many other people, swimming pool, restaurants, shared equipment etc.
They're now offering free amendments to dates until end of April so I can change my booking for another date in the future with no penalty but we've both taken the time off work and might not have much leave to spare later in the year. Not sure what to do.

I would not go, tbh.

SummerHouse · 13/03/2020 18:09

I think I would go but not swim or mix. No activities, no restaurants. Just walks and bike rides. Depends on if you have DCs and what their ages are really as to if this would work.

sansgender · 13/03/2020 18:14

What Summerhouse said

blue25 · 13/03/2020 18:17

No I honestly wouldn’t go. CP is an absolute germ pit.

Blackdog19 · 13/03/2020 18:19

I wouldn’t swim or use restaurants- so would probably defer

Youngatheart00 · 13/03/2020 18:20

If you’re able to defer I certainly would. You wouldn’t be able to relax and constantly on “germ alert”. Are they also offering refunds - if you fancied the forest lodge experience you could book an alternative somewhere secluded and still get the walks / fresh air / bike rides / sense of a break.

We are going somewhere similar during the Easter holidays, and our plan is to avoid communal facilities as much as possible and visit the beaches and country parks.

hilbil21 · 13/03/2020 18:27

I wouldn't go. We are due to go to Haven next week. Unfortunately they're not offering free amendments or anything.... yet

1wokeuplikethis · 13/03/2020 18:28

I’d go for sure and enjoy it being quieter than usual for all the other people who’ve cancelled because they don’t really know if they should go. Rapids to yourself 👍🏻

feelingverylazytoday · 13/03/2020 18:34

I wouldn't go. I'm planning on staying at home as much as possible for the next few months.

chatterbugmegastar · 13/03/2020 18:35

I would not go

Fraggle45 · 13/03/2020 18:47

Just seen a news report saying centre parcs will let anyone swop dates who wants too

If the new dates are more £ then you pay the difference, if less they'll refund the difference

Seems very fair

RoseMartha · 13/03/2020 19:56

If you were planning on doing lots of the activities which i understand is the point of Cp (never been myself), i would see if i could defer especially if they are offering that.

If that did not bother me i would go and do bike rides and walks and off site things which did not involve crowds.

WokClock · 13/03/2020 20:01

I’m really impressed with their offer. Well done Center Parcs. It also means that people who are ill won’t force themselves to go.

Zucker · 13/03/2020 20:04

They have closed down the Irish centre parcs so they may not be open to go to!
