Holiday booked for April 12th, Florida, all the parks etc.

We can move it to mid October for an extra £1k (which we’ll have time to save up).

Wwyd?

I'd go in April. Hopefully it will be nice and quiet!!

Tatum1234 · 13/03/2020 16:56

We were supposed to be going 9th April and have managed to move it today, only to the 25th May but hoping it’s enough. We can’t go any later this year unfortunately so have to hope 10 weeks is enough.
I’d move if you can.

Herecomethedaffodils · 13/03/2020 16:56

I'd be tempted to move it. Too much uncertainty for the short term. All parks closed until the end of March now at least anyway. Hope you get it all sorted

Pteuropa · 13/03/2020 17:04

Thanks everyone, it’s so difficult to know what to do especially as no one has any answers and it’s all guess work.

We’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t!

I just know that if we don’t move it I’ll have 4 weeks of worry and I won’t relax on the holiday. Its a once in a life time for us and I want to be able to really enjoy it.

But there is no right answer.

We're going away at the end of May (to Italy!) for a big birthday but for the moment we are just going to wait and see as we have no idea what it will be like.

Plane tickets, hotels and care hire all booked.😢 😟
It's 10 weeks away and either it will have died down a bit (Fingers crossed) or it'll be the end if the world as we know it.
Disclaimer -- i don't really believe it will be...
That tune is playing in my head on repeat

I think the situation in the US will become very bad as so many Americans have no healthcare.

I would definitely avoid the US for now.

Grufallosfriends · 13/03/2020 17:10

They may well shut the attraction parks anyway

Pteuropa · 13/03/2020 17:13

Attraction parks are already closed for 2 weeks, I can’t see them staying shut any longer than that but what the fuck do I know?! I didn’t see any of this coming!

OP posts:
Paintforkitchen · 13/03/2020 17:13

I think it’s very unlikely the parks will be back open by then.
I would move it to October personally, it’s a fab time of year to go, all the Halloween stuff is brilliant, the weather lovely and the crowds will be less than Easter.

AnneOfCloves · 13/03/2020 17:19

Why go when you risk being stranded and all the parks are shut? What would be the point?

Hulahoopqueen · 13/03/2020 17:19

I would tbh - Halloween at Disney is incredible and worth the extra money imo. I hope you have a fantastic time whenever you go, OP!!

Pteuropa · 13/03/2020 17:19

Do you think? That’s made me feel better. What is the weather like in October?

OP posts:
Pteuropa · 13/03/2020 17:22

Thanks everyone. DH is at the travel agents as I type so I’m very anxious.

I know I have absolutely no right to be upset over this when it’s causing so much death and illness, job losses etc and this is just a holiday but we’ve put so much energy into it. DH has worked every hour of over time available to him to pay for it. DS is so excited he’s been counting down the days.

It’s nothing in the grand scheme of life but at the minute i do feel stressed!

Paintforkitchen · 13/03/2020 17:24

We usually go in October and weather has always been great. Hot without being unbearable and out of the rainy season as well.

Tartyflette · 13/03/2020 22:42

The weather can be lovely in Florida in October but be aware it is also hurricane season.
