Educating elderly relatives

Does anyone have any ideas for educating some elderly relatives on the situation quickly? I’ve read a lot of information myself but I can’t send them loads of articles and graphs and charts.

I’m looking for maybe one or two short and concise articles from reputable sources, any advice on what to tell them. Something to really drive the point home before they start glossing over it all. They don’t understand how serious this is and also did not know that age is a large factor in how people respond to this illness.

I don’t want to drive them into a panic. Just give them enough information so that they will hopefully understand the situation and realize that they may want to take more precautions themselves.

@Bluebelle32 I have been wondering the same thing. My Mum is 80, still works full time in a public facing role, and seems to be quite blasè about it at the minute. I on the other hand am terrified.

@curiouschickpea I can see how that would be concerning for you. Is she keeping up with the topic and unconcerned, or fairly ignorant about it all?

@Bluebelle32 I'm really not sure to be honest, bit of both possibly. Her worst nightmare would be not to work (she loves it), so possibly some head in sand mentality.

Sorry this thread didn’t take off, hopefully we can both figure it out ourselves!
