Have decided that end of March to the beginning of April is the right time to undertake some routine flushing of pipes. Leading to loss of water pressure, and water may be discoulored. If this happens, don't use the water. If you are undergoing dialysis they will deliver bottles water.

Given that one of the few preventative measures we can take is regular hand washing ......

I suggest contacting your MP, often the best way to sort things like this. Also the Yorkshire Post.

Routine flushing is needed to move water out of dead spots in pipes. Without doing this all sorts of nasty bugs can grow which can make people sick and the water undrinkable.

You could still wash your hands with low water pressure, it may take a bit longer. You can even wash your hands with discolored water, you just don't want to drin k it.

Either issue will be temporary.
