What would count as a high temp?

Just wondering what would count as a high temp for CV/self isolating purposes? For example, I did mine just now on a digital thermometer orally and it was 36.4. So if it was 37 tomorrow would that be high for me, or do people always have a range? And what counts as high with regards to general high temp being a symptom?

(I am not saying I am worried about me, I am interested in general what counts as high).

Also would taking mine and the kids temperature before seeing my parents be enough to think we are able to see them given raised temp is one of the early symptoms?

I think they mean 39 or 40 degrees. 37, even if usually you're 36.7, is not a high temperature.

Your temperature fluctuates in the course of day. It’s only a fever if it gets to 38c or above.

38 or 39 is a mild fever. 40 plus is a high temperature.

The government press meeting said that they are counting a temperature for people to self isolate as being over 37.8

It's far from a high temperature but that is what they have stated

(36.4 is bang on normal healthy btw)

Paintforkitchen · 12/03/2020 22:19

It does actually specify a temp in the guidelines - 37.8c or higher

Ineverdidmind · 12/03/2020 22:21

Sounds like they're playing it safe then

ihaveaquestionplease · 12/03/2020 22:21

37.8

My usual underarm temperature is 36 (sometimes less) so that would be hot for me

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 12/03/2020 22:22

At the press conference they said 37.8 C
