If you could afford to keep you children out of school, would you?

Just that, is it down to survival either way?

Ha! No! I don’t want to take care of my own children for weeks on end!

But on a more serious note, we have no plans to do so at the moment. If the school permits it we may go abroad with them (we need a holiday and we’re both able to go).

Chickenloup, I think the government needs to find ways to ensure that we don't turn haves and have-nots, into lives and live-nots. absolutely, and this is for me the most scary.

I can't really dd is in year 13 and can make her own decisions, she also works in a store as well so I can't keep her in.

I could with dd2 who is in year 8. If it gets too bad then I will keep her at home at least.

I'm thinking about it because we live with an elderly, ill parent who would be highly unlikely to survive. I can work from home and DC would like nothing better than to be off school.

tammiedog · 12/03/2020 21:15

No, we can afford to. DH is still out to work so could easily catch it and bring it home so I don't see the point in distrusting school (especially as no confirmed cases near me). The only way it would make sense was if we all stayed at home.

Not yet and I have a type 1 diabetic child. I think schools will close before Easter and that will be long enough. If there becomes a confirmed case in our small town then I may think differently.

Not yet and one of them has a life limiting illness. We are in inner london.

Mine is already off, has been since Tuesday. Mainly because I've had a very bad chest infection that has seen two of my relatives in hospital in the past week and so I don't want Covid on top of what I've already got. I wasn't going out aside from the school run so didn't want my son bringing school germs back with him.

I'm unsure what we'll be doing from Monday onwards. My chest still is still painful, if I feel better I might send him back depending on the weekend figures. Although the figures are not really representative of how many in the UK actually do have it at the moment I suppose.
