Pregnancy and fever

So I know the risk is really for older people and those with underlying conditions and there isn’t any elevated risk of maternal death, miscarriage, stillbirth etc so it’s being said it’s nothing to worry about for pregnant women, however I’ve read about studies in the past that have linked fever to autism and that’s something that does worry me.

Considering that most women get at least one cold during pregnancy which is usually accompanied by a fever, I think the chances of your worries coming true are pretty slim. Pregnancy does not make you high risk for coronavirus.

Really? I’ve not heard of many people getting high fevers with common colds. It’s normally something more serious like the flu that causes a high fever as far as I’m aware

Yes a fever in pregnancy is linked to miscarriage that's why the advise you have the flu jab. I'm not sure about autism links though.

Most adults don't get fevers with colds so that's different.

I think the best thing is try isolate as much as you can. It's really hard to i know and hard not to worry but the advice here though seems to say pregnant women aren't a risk.

I’m not really concerned about myself and I think the immediate risks to the baby are probably low too, I’m more concerned about the long term implications for the baby.
