Should I go in tomorrow?

Not exactly Coronavirus but related so hope it’s ok to post here.

I’m a volunteer in a hospice on Thursday evenings for 2 hours. Have had a sore throat, slight temperature and felt a bit nauseous for the last couple of days.

So not the main symptoms of the virus but should I miss going in this week just in case? I don’t want to leave them short staffed for just a cold but feel I should err on the side of caution due to the vulnerability of the patients?

Personally, working in a hospice, I wouldn’t go in with a fever etc as it could be something people can’t physically cope with. You could shorten their time without meaning to iyswim. If you feel bad about it, call work and ask what they suggest. I imagine they’d rather put their patients first and protect them.

If I was in a patient in hospice I wouldn't appreciate staff coming in if they were ill, whatever the illness.

Definitely not.

Gosh no. Not at the best of times with a fever.

Sorry should have said in OP, I don’t have direct contact with the patients. I’m on reception so aware I could still pass something on as visitors sign in with me before going in to see their relatives.

I’ll give them a ring in the morning and see what they suggest.

Depends what you do in the hospice, if you are working in the post room away from anybody it’s probably ok, if you are with patients then I would advise against it.
