What are you doing while on mat leave with your babies

Just curious if people are carrying on as normal or now avoiding baby activities. I have an 8 week old and ironically am now only fit enough to get out and about but feel it may now not be wise. I have a two year old to look after too after childcare three days a week. I had grand plans to hit baby cinema etc etc but am now doubting myself despite the advice to carry on as normal

I've stopped going to playgroups and softplay on my days off. It's a haven for spreading coughs and colds at the best of times but with this outbreak I wouldn't risk it. It doesn't tend to affect children or young people that much but if you have elderly relatives you could spr as it to them

I received a text last night from the organiser of the playgroup i take my 18 month old to. The text said that the group is not running again until April 21st and to check their website for updates! This playgroup runs twice a week and is very popular. Bit worrying...

I have a 9 week old, so no soft play or groups as yet.

I still go for a walk, when not raining, and food shopping on Sunday.

I'm on a limited budget being on mat pay so can't really prep, always have tins and make sure to have lots of milk and nappies though, so just carrying on as normal as will still need to shop weekly no matter what.

I have lots of high risk family but we are all of the if we get it we get it mind tbf.

Not quite sure what else I can do tbf.

Lots of activities are still running with extra cleaning and disinfecting for now. I’ve been more wary though as so many people take their children when feverish etc. I’ve been going with my eldest to her classes but my baby is in the mouthing phase and I’m not sure it’s worth it as she tends to get hit quite badly with respiratory infections.

I have a toddler and 4 month old and we are pretty much carrying on as usual. Both girls have swim classes, toddler does climbing, we are booked in for a few children's shows over the next couple of months. We won't be stopping any of that unless we get sick or the activities stop running. We just wash our hands as we leave and after swimming we go straight home for a bath anyway.

Outdoor activities will be less risky than Indoors. We regularly visit a farm and a zoo which both also have outdoor play parks. We also have a dog so we go for daily walks in the woods or the beach. A baby won't appreciate it all as much as an older child, but babies generally get free entry anyway and they can still enjoy looking around.

Thing is a lot of people won't follow the self isolation recommendations. I often see children with things like active chicken pox or hand foot and mouth at soft play or at swimming, or even while out shopping. P
Some people don't follow the recommendations for d+v symptoms either. But if you stick to stuff outdoors you're much less likely to be close enough to those that have it, for long enough to catch it
