Are you doing anything to boost your immune system/general health?

I was wondering, aside from increased hand hygiene, what other measures are people talking to boost their immune system or general health?

I have started taking a multivitamin containing vitamin D and upping my fruit and vegetable intake. I also am going to try and exercise more to boost my lung capacity and overall fitness as I am really unfit at the moment. I doubt any of these will have that much of an effect but it at least gives me an illusion of control and a way to channel my anxiety.

Porcupine, is that your usual asthma plan? I'd be using the preventer all winter normally if I were you. Maybe speak to your asthma nurse about next winter?

I find I can ease off between June and sept, or drop to the 100/6 Fostair, as can my ds. But absolutely stay on top of the preventer all winter if you tend to catch things then.

@NeurotrashWarrior I'm the opposite. Use the preventor May-July (pollen season - I have allergic asthma) and then only during/after a bad chest infection (once every few years).)

I have changed my diet at Xmas in order to loose weight. I have increased my calories to a level where I am maintains the weight loss (12kg so far) and having had my annual mot ( I have drug controlled high blood pressure) I have had a clean bill of health with regard to the bloods taken last week. My BMI has dropped nicely and I am exercising moderately. I have reduced my stress levels massively since this time last year so hoping that my immune system will cope. Unfortunately I am a primary healthcare professional and likely to come into contact with a lot of asymptomatic patients so I’m hoping that my immune system will cope.
I have mild cold symptoms at the moment but I’m on annual leave until next Tuesday so resting lots and eating lots of green stuff.
However my DH is a whole different story and probably will end up with a critical form of virus. I’m hoping he gets it early when there are plenty of beds! He is a SAHD and we live rurally so may be able to avoid it. It may mean him relocating to our even more remote holiday home if DS and I become infected.
