How do I know?

I have had a sore throat since Thursday, esp bad until yesterday and slightly better today. Since Saturday I’ve felt a bit chesty; like before you get a chest infection, uncomfortable but not painful I’ve got a cough today and a bit snuggly but no runny nose. Should I be getting tested for Coronavirus? Or just a normal cold type illness? What would you do?

I’d give it a few days, stay at home and try and feel better. If you get a fever and feel worse not better then it’s time to contact 111, but not yet.

Im the same. Have worked at home today as I was up all night with a cough and bit breathless. Dont feel particularly ill but chesty, still got bad cough and keep feeling hot and cold and fatigued. Lying in bed just now resting but no idea if i should be concerned. My boss is not up for peope being off work but I also dont want to be responsible if I do have it.

Have you travelled abroad recently? Been in close proximity to someone who has, or do you have a confirmed case locally?

DressingGownofDoom · 09/03/2020 18:52

I don't think they will test you if you haven't been in contact with someone who has tested positive. Have you had a temperature? If not I suspect it's just a typical end of winter cold.

No temp as such, and I’ve not knowingly been in contact with anyone who has been abroad or been confirmed with it, but then I wouldn’t necessarily know. I feel well enough to work so am doing but pondered how we would know if it is more than usually cold type illness

Probably ask a doctor, or definitely listen to a stranger on the internet Confused
