How to help other people

So I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to have additional food and over the counter medicines in my house. But what can all of us in this position do to help others?

Make cash donation to food banks?
Check older neighbours are ok/offer to pick up extra food for them?

Sign the petiton bellinisurge shared to protect low paid workers

Any more ideas?

This isn't just altruistic. Everyone will cope better and the situation will be easier if we try to act as a society and not just individuals.

This list is of charities that will feed children if the schools close, but worth considering supporting them now -

I wondered this. I think making sure you know who are the single older people on your road - perhaps drop them a note with your phone number offering to get them shopping Or make them a meal etc if they don’t feel well? Do a daily check? You can leave shopping on the doorstep and check them through a window if you/they don’t want to actually have gave to face contact.

I think definitely cash to food banks and similar charities.

They may also need volunteers to drop off food parcels etc.

Buying food, toiletries and toilet rolls for food banks. If things are in short supply, they'll appreciate already having the items
