Who IBU here?

Coronavirus related!

Person 1 has an immune-compromising health condition & takes biologic which lowers immunity further. Receives PIP due to poor mobility.

Person 2 is usually very fit & well but had Thursday off sick - achy, headachy. Friday (yesterday) was their usual day off & is able to walk the dog and take child to a party later. Pretty much back to normal.

Who should take the child to their swimming lesson this morning?

Either.

dementedpixie · 07/03/2020 07:55

Who normally takes them?

TitianaTitsling · 07/03/2020 07:55

Whoever's free .. or both, toss a coin!

TitianaTitsling · 07/03/2020 07:55

You're 'person 1' am assuming..

lovepickledlimes · 07/03/2020 07:56

Person 2 I would say

MarieQueenofScots · 07/03/2020 07:57

Why is this Coronavirus related? Is Person 1 worried about catching it?

Unless you’re in an area where several people have caught it, I don’t think it matters who takes them swimming!

CalmdownJanet · 07/03/2020 07:57

Honestly at this stage and considering it's a swimming lesson this really isn't or shouldn't be corona virus related. One of ye take him, it doesn't matter who

TabbyMumz · 07/03/2020 07:59

Presume both parents pull their weight with children, so either. If you are that worried about coronavirus, why is child going to swimming lesson?

GiveHerHellFromUs · 07/03/2020 07:59

You're clearly person 1 given your poor attempt at not showing your bias.

I think person 1 should take the child considering person 2 is having to endure a children's party and walk the dog when they're poorly maybe it's Coronavirus

TitianaTitsling · 07/03/2020 07:59

I was thinking 1 as their descriptior is all about being unwell and 2 is about all the stuff they have been doing and are 'back to normal' unless it's a 2 hour walk to an outdoor pool, just toss a coin!

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 07/03/2020 08:00

If you both feel fine then either.
If 1 and 2 live together and person 2 takes the child swimming they could catch the virus if it is about, they will likely pass it on to person 1 anyway.

DivGirl · 07/03/2020 08:01

Sounds like person two does more than their share so person one should step up for a change. After all, person two hasn't been feeling quite at their baseline recently, and person 1 is

365calendar · 07/03/2020 08:04

I’m a friend trying to explain to both that either of them could do it which is interesting given the responses - thankyou Smile

I was starting to wonder if it was me being unreasonable and I was missing the obvious.

Vulpine · 07/03/2020 08:08

If it causing this much strain change the lesson time!

SoloMummy · 07/03/2020 08:32

Unless person 1 plans on potentially not leaving the house for the next 3 or 4 months, then either.

What is person 1's thinking?

AriadnesFilament · 07/03/2020 08:34

2

NewName2020 · 07/03/2020 08:44

What's this got to do with Coronavirus?

JasonBrun · 07/03/2020 08:46

Whoever isn't doing the kids party.

THERE IS A CORONAVIRUS TOPC PLEASE USE IT

BillysMyBunny · 07/03/2020 09:06

Well if they live together it doesn’t matter as if either patent or the child gets corinavirus chances are they’ll pass it to each other so I’d say either everyone stays home or it doesn’t matter who goes.

TitianaTitsling · 07/03/2020 14:46

So what's your thoughts then OP? who did you say IBU?

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 07/03/2020 15:27

Either.

And I completely fit the bill to be person 1 in this scenario and I’d not think twice about taking DC swimming.

KimMumsnet · 07/03/2020 17:01

Hi, OP. We're moving this over to the Coronavirus topic now.
Thanks.

negomi90 · 07/03/2020 17:08

If the kid lives with person 1 then person taking the kid swimming won't change the odds of person 1 getting it.
If the kid catches it, then kids being lovely germy creatures will pass it to person 1 anyway.
That said the risk is minimal and some one needs to take the child to their swimming lesson.
