Harry Potter studios and Coronavirus - would you go?

SuperPixie247 · 01/03/2020 14:26

Just that really.

Booked to go last weekend of March but with the coronavirus confirmed in (roughly) that area of woods, I am concerned. It will obviously be a very busy place with lots of tourists.

It would be a shame to lose the money spent on tickets but at the same time, I don't want to catch the virus!!

WWYD?

Yes
I would go
I’ve got tickets for a few events coming up and it hadn’t crossed my mind not to go

IpanemaGallina · 01/03/2020 14:33

We have booked Harry P for May and still plan to go (family of asthmatics).

LIZS · 01/03/2020 14:37

By then there will be cases much closer to home. I would not change plans based on current situation.

Lindy2 · 01/03/2020 14:38

I'd still go but I would make sure I washed my hands thoroughly quite regularly and definitely before eating.

You're not in particularly close contact with other people as it's quite a spacious place.

Practice good hygiene and move away from anyone who is coughing and it should be no more risky than a trip to a shopping centre or supermarket really.

SnowyPetals · 01/03/2020 14:52

Yes I would definitely go.

99problemsandthecatis1 · 01/03/2020 15:23

Yes, I wouldn't think twice about going. Wash your hands and take antibac.

vhs95 · 01/03/2020 15:32

I'd go. Personally I'm not going to hide in the cupboard under the stairs until they sound the all clear.

tiredanddangerous · 01/03/2020 15:52

Yes I would go.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 01/03/2020 15:54

I’d go. But I’d take antibacterial gel, I would be careful not to touch door handles/surfaces etc, and would wash my hands frequently and throughly, and wouldn’t touch my face or ears etc.

IceColdCat · 01/03/2020 15:57

Yes I'd go. You're not confined into a very small space.

Gilead · 01/03/2020 16:52

If you’re going by car, Leavesden is quite out of the way, you won’t be near a town centre, so only the people there.

Halfcharged · 01/03/2020 17:13

Yes! Good grief, I don’t understand this panic. Well I do, the media is creating a shit storm!

Lonecatwithkitten · 01/03/2020 17:16

If you are taking antibac the standard stuff does not kill viruses of which cornavirus is one. It needs to be medical grade at least 60% alcohol to have any effect of virus. Habdwashing using world health organisation technique and thoroughly drying hands is the most effective protection against viruses.

gamerwidow · 01/03/2020 17:20

Yes go, it is very unlikely the confirmed Coronavirus patient has visited Harry Potter world in the last two weeks. It isn't wild in the community yet.

Figgygal · 01/03/2020 17:22

Yes I’d go

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/03/2020 17:24

I’d go.

NetballHoop · 01/03/2020 17:26

Yes. Go and enjoy yourselves. Wash your hands and try to stop the DCs fro touching their mouths/nose.

Argh, MN is now showing me ads for facemasks. We're in for a pandemic pointless panic.

DebbieFiderer · 01/03/2020 17:26

I'm going there in two weeks. I also went to the theatre in London last week and am going again soon. Life goes on. And to be honest, if this thing carries on how some people think it will, this is probably the safest point to be going out like that for the next 6 months or so.

NetballHoop · 01/03/2020 17:27

Wow my phone hates me. Sorry for the typos.

TheMammothHunters · 01/03/2020 17:31

I think it’s too soon to decide. Who knows what the situation will be in another month?
We have Gran Canaria booked for mid April. We still want to go but can’t decide now if it will be possible, we have to leave it until nearer the time,

mouldyoldonkey · 01/03/2020 17:35

I’d go. Not in a car though as lots of people die in car crashes every day. Trains and busses probably off limits too as they can also end fatally. In fact, what if there’s someone with the beginnings of flu there? Or mumps or something? I’ve changed my mind, I don’t think I’d go. In fact I may never leave the house again.

Witchend · 01/03/2020 17:41

Well, if you don't want to go, then email me the tickets and I'll make sure they are put to good use. i.e. I'd go. Wink

butwhateverfor · 01/03/2020 17:57

Meh. Pretty sure you're more likely to die in a car crash.

Wrongdissection · 01/03/2020 18:02

We went last week. Survived the whole thing.

LittlebrookLyn · 04/03/2020 15:36

I live about 15mins from the studios and know someone who works there, apparently they do have less visitors right now, so it might actually be nicer to walk around as it does get very busy there.
