Today's Telegraph is reporting that should the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the UK exceed 100 then 'everyone with any cough or cold or flu symptoms will have to self-isolate for 14 days'. How would this be possible in reality?! Surely that would be madness? You'd likely have ppl pretending to have colds and not going to work and the economy would be crippled? If you imagine the numbers this would involve even the genuine cases? What are your thoughts? Media hysteria? Good safety measures?

Pretend you are immunosuppressed and be much much fussier from today about washing your hands, not touching door handles, keeping your phone clean

I do all this already, but have a four year old, who mixes with other four year olds at school, most of whom don’t cover their mouths when they cough, and are quite happy to pick their noses and not wash their hands, so....

U.K. govt are already using public order restrictions. One of the arrow park lot threatened to walk and a law was rushed through so people can be detained against their will.

If this starts happening to people who can't afford it I will be more worried about public order than Coronavirus.

Hi, @lightnesspixie - just bobbing on here to say that we've shifted your thread over to the specific Coronavirus topic as it seems the best place for it now. Smile

You should be isolating for 7 days if you have new symptoms and you live alone. If you live with family you have to isolate for 14 days. The GOV should have thought about what implications people ringing in sick would have on every work place before bringing this rule out. I do agree with it though as it could be nothing/just a normal cold the problem is without testing we won’t know. The longer people don’t comply the longer the disruption... it’s a catch 22 as I understand we all need to make a living.
