Joint statement issued by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates:

The Ministers discussed the Iranian attacks ... and they affirmed their condemnation and denunciation of these Iranian deliberate attacks with ballistic missiles and drones which targeted residential areas, civilian infrastructure, including oil facilities, desalination plants, airports, residential buildings, and diplomatic premises. The Ministers further affirmed that such attacks could not be justified under any pretext or in any manner whatsoever.

The Ministers also stressed the right of states to defend themselves in accordance with Article (51) of the United Nations Charter. The Ministers called on Iran to immediately halt its attacks and affirmed the necessity of respecting international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness, as a first toward ending the escalation, and achieving security and stability in the region, and promoting diplomacy as a means to resolve crisis.

The Ministers further emphasized that the future of relations with Iran depends on respecting the sovereignty of states and non-inference in their internal affairs, as well as refraining from violating their sovereignty or their territories in any manner whatsoever, and to not use or develop its military capabilities to threaten countries of the region.

The Ministers stressed the need for Iran to abide by implementing the Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which called for an immediate halt to all attacks, and unconditional cessation of any provocative acts or threats against neighboring states, and the cessation of support, financing and arming its affiliated militias in Arab countries, which Iran is doing to serve its goals and against the interests of these countries. Furthermore, to refrain from any measures or threats aimed at closing or obstructing international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz or threatening maritime security in Bab al-Mandab.

The Ministers reaffirmed support for the security, stability and territorial integrity of Lebanon, activating the sovereignty of the Lebanese state over all its territories, and supporting the Lebanese government's decision to limit weapons to the state. They also condemned Israel's aggression against Lebanon and its expansionist policy in the region.

The Ministers reaffirm their commitment to continuing intensive consultation and coordination in this regard, to monitor developments and assess emerging issues in a way that ensure the formulation of common positions and the adoption of necessary legitimate measures and procedures to protect their security, stability, and sovereignty, and to halt the Iranian heinous attacks on their territories.

Thanks for this

How to make friends and influence people ... Iran seem to be doing the opposite.

They appear to be losing friends and influence and encouraging the countries listed above to form an alliance against them. Their relations with Iran could take a long time to recover.

Iran continues to attack their neighbours today with attacks that targeted two oil refineries in Kuwait and one in Saudi Arabia.

The speech from Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud was really showing how annoyed all the surrounding countries are with IRAN. In days, a week, he didn't specify a time, they will hit back. Iran aren't thinking. They are totally alienated in the region. He could barely contain hus anger.

Ihatetomatoes · 19/03/2026 22:15

I think the surrounding countries know Iran and their funding of Hamas, Hezbollah and The Houthis us wrecking the middle east and greater peace and prosperity for all.

The attempts to destroy Israel by Iran and its proxies bring harm to the civilians of each country unfortunate enough to house these terrorist groups and the stable and more prosperous countries dontcwant similar.

Without terrorist organisations imagine how Iran, Lebanon, Gaza and Yeman could be.

Twiglets1 · 20/03/2026 02:47

@Ihatetomatoes I think the surrounding countries have turned a blind eye to it for years but now Iran’s aggression is affecting them directly, they aren’t happy.

A tactical error by Iran to upset all their neighbours. Could drive them into an alliance with the US which would entail better relations with Israel too.

In 1979 Iran with its great human and natural resources decided to go down the route of insular Islamist hate with a manifesto of hate against Israel and the US. The country became an international pariah and desperately poor. Other gulf states engaged with the wider world including the US and were slowly gaining an acceptance of Israel; although there are human rights issues with these states they did well in terms of GDP per capita.

Now we see the result, a mad regime lashing out at all in its death throes.

Twiglets1 · 20/03/2026 07:18

I agree @mids2019 they are showing their madness. And I hope that it is a visual sign of their death throes.

There is no logic to alienating all your closest neighbours, there is no logic to forcing them to seek alliances elsewhere for no actual benefit to Iran.

Iranian attacks pose existential threat, Gulf states warn

Gulf Arab states have told the UN Human Rights Council they face an existential threat from Iranian attacks on their infrastructure, which the UN human-rights chief said might constitute war crimes.

The war on Iran has sparked large-scale Iranian retaliation in the form of drone and missile strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries, killing civilians and driving up oil prices.

"We are seeing an existential threat to international and regional security. This aggressive approach is undermining international law and sovereignty," Kuwait's ambassador Naser Abdullah HM Alhayen told the council.

Other Gulf states said Iran's actions were designed to spread terror. The United Arab Emirates' ambassador Jamal Jama al Musharakh denounced Iran's "attempt to destabilise the international order through reckless adventures of expansionism”.

Countries at the 47-member council adopted a motion condemning Iran's "unprovoked and deliberate" strikes, seeking reparations from Iran and asking the UN to monitor the situation.

I hope so, and agree although the poor people don’t want it either.

I feel a bit gloomier today about it. The geography feels tough ie the Strait.

Kuwait International Airport suffers 'significant damage' to radar system in attacks

Kuwait International Airport was targeted by multiple drone attacks on Saturday that caused significant damage to its radar system but resulted in no casualties, state news agency KUNA reported, citing the country's Civil Aviation Authority.

The authority's spokesperson later said the attacks were carried out by Iran, its proxies and the armed factions it supports.

Yemen's internationally-recognised government accuses Iran of dragging country into conflict

Yemen's internationally-recognised government has condemned what it describes as Iran's "frequent attempts to drag Yemen" and other countries in the Middle East into the conflict "through its terrorist militias".

For context, Yemen has been engulfed in a civil war that escalated in 2015 when the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group seized control of the country's north-west from the internationally-recognised government, leading to intervention from a Saudi-led coalition supported by the US.

In a statement, the Presidential Leadership Council, which governs from the southern port city of Aden but frequently conducts operations from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, says "the involvement of the Houthi militias in defending the Iranian regime" shows that Iran is "pushing its agents to open other fronts" in order to reduce political pressure on itself.

It warns that this would exacerbate poor "humanitarian and living conditions... in a country already suffering from one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world".

The Houthi rebels consider themselves part of the Iranian-led "axis of resistance" against Israel, the US and the wider West - along with armed groups such as Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah movement.

Due to 'heightened tensions' during the war. They are getting a lot of missiles and drones sent their way so perhaps and I'm guessing they suspect s lone wolf terrorist might enter? Who knows.

I don't know either but that sounds a reasonable guess.

Qatar has taken part in a virtual session of the Arab League to discuss the “unlawful and reprehensible” attacks on Gulf countries, the country’s ministry of foreign affairs said.

UAE says rebuilding trust with Iran will take ‘ages and ages’ after Middle East war

Rebuilding trust between Abu Dhabi and Tehran will take “ages and ages,” UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash says, after Iran targeted the United Arab Emirates during the Middle East conflict.

“You can’t be attacked with 2,800 missiles and drones and then talk to me about trust. That will take ages and ages,” Gargash says at a World Policy Conference in the town of Chantilly near Paris, as peace talks hang in the balance to end the war sparked in late February by Israeli-US strikes on Iran.

Bahrain revokes citizenship of 69 people over support for Iran

Bahrain has revoked the citizenship of 69 people over what it described as sympathy with Iran’s hostile acts and collaboration with foreign entities.

The kingdom’s interior ministry said that that total included accused individuals and their family members, and that they were all of non-Bahraini origin.

“The Bahraini nationality has been revoked from those individuals for glorifying or sympathising with the hostile Iranian acts, or engaging in contacts with external parties,” it added.

Bahraini law states that citizenship can be revoked in cases of “causing harm to the interests of the Kingdom or acting in a manner that contradicts the duty of loyalty to it”.
