Iran strikes Palestinians

This will confuse the pro Palestnians

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/19/three-palestinian-women-killed-during-iranian-missile-attack-in-west-bank

Do people somehow use some sort of distorted logic and blame Israel for these deaths? Do the deaths of Palestinians get added to the 'genocide' count or as this is Iran the deaths will be glossed over as tragic collateral damage.

Nothing to see here from the hate marchers I guess.......

Three Palestinian women killed during Iranian missile attack in West Bank

Three Palestinian women killed during Iranian missile attack in West Bank

Women killed, 13 injured when debris from a missile, or possibly a cluster bomblet, hit a beauty salon near Hebron.

Come on ... there is no complaint about "goady threads" as long as they are criticising Israel.

It's not for MN to police what people want to talk about as long as the topic doesn't break site rules. Many a time I've done a silent 🙄at thread titles on this board that have only been created to attack Israel AGAIN but never thought to post on them just to say this thread is goady, or MN should not allow it.

This.

So many people just cannot see their own bias.

I am allowed to post my feelings on the matter rather than sit here eye rolling.

Huh? Did a thread on Lebanon not go whoosh the other day, the deletion message was something along the lines of goady thread. Clearly there are complaints or mumsnet wouldn't have killed one of the only anti war threads that has been posted recently.

I don't know why that thread got deleted but it won't just be for being "goady".

Lots of those are allowed to stay.

I will take a wild guess that it was full of personal attacks - that is the reason most posts get deleted and when a thread is full of them, I think sometimes MN think it's easier for the whole thread to go than have to keep moderating it.

How can you say that for sure?

I think it was because a number of posters decided it was funny to play bingo of words that deal with the massacre of Palestinians and the events of the past two years.

Sorry @mids2019 but it appears that no one cares about Palestinians killed by Iranians. Not enough to comment anyway.

Or killed by Hezbollah or Hamas or The Houthis, nothing to see there, or hear for that matter.......

Iran didn't kill the Gazans - at least not deliberately.

The missle was headed for Israel. It was shot down and debris landed on some people. That it landed on people in Gaza was an unfortunate accident.

I don't think the Americans intended to kill girls at a school either. Sadly, a dreadful mistake. I cannot believe people actually think American bombers purposely did a strike on a school. Also an accident. Also awful.

I can't speak for the OP, but I raised a wry eyebrow as I read your post, as it so encapsulates what, to my mind, the OP may have been alluding to with hers.

I note your use of the word 'shameful'. Such scolding and attempts to shame - often with marked use of hyperbole, and straight away from first post, as you have done - is a notable and consistent feature of this board. It often appears to serve as a means to shut down wider debate, and as a deflection solely into emoting and away from clear thinking.

If you frequent these boards - and if you are able to take a clear-eyed, unbiased view of the general flavour of many of the posts on it - you will know very well that there is a heavy slant towards decrying any action of Israel and the US, often with very emotive language and heavy one-sided bias, with little balance. Whereas where there are atrocities committed by Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis or Iran, the response is singularly muted in comparison.

I have seen over and over again reams of posts that fail to address reasonable questions like 'what other ways do you think Israel could use to defend its citizens?' and that instead default to emotive shouting that often amounts to nothing more than "but... but.... what about DEAD BABIES. People are DYING." As if nobody other than those who are heavily biased against Israel cares about the human suffering.

Yet these posters have been relatively quiet about the thousands of Iranians killed by the regime, or Israelis killed by Hamas, Hezbollah or Iran.

If the majority of posters on here were really concerned about people suffering and dying, we'd expect to see a consistent approach, no matter which people are suffering. Yet that isn't what we see, is it? What we see is some people's lives being valued more than others - exactly what those same posters accuse Israel and the US of doing.

Being confronted with an invitation to examine one's own bias is uncomfortable - so much so that most people push it away, rather than having the courage to actually enquire within. I expect I'll just get replies telling me to be ashamed.

Edited

Nailed it.

There are so many victims in this war and before it started. The children in the school in Iran and the protesters killed by their own countrymen, tragic.

The people of Gaza and the victims of October 7th.

The terrorists don't care who dies in either Israel or Gaza, one is worth celebrating and the others used cynically to gain support to further their aims to destroy another country.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 67,414 civilian sites have been struck, of which 498 are schools and 236 health facilities.

Iran has released pictures of mourners from one school. 498 different schools claim? Are these claims accurate? I don't know. Surprised that Iran wouldn't release some pictures as they did of the girls school.

Over 67,000 strikes is a lot of missiles. On a search there doesn't appear any figures on how many missiles fired. Can only find this Iran release "Iran says over 70,000 civilian sites damaged in US-Israeli attacks
More than 70,000 civilian sites have been damaged in US-Israeli attacks on Iran, the president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society has said.
Pir Hossein Kolivand said the strikes have also injured more than 18,000 civilians.
“The attacks have resulted in damage to more than 70,000 civilian units,” Kolivand said in remarks."

Ihatetomatoes · 19/03/2026 23:14

I've found another release

"The Iranian Red Crescent Society said the latest air raids on Tehran damaged one of its clinics and an aid relief post, posting footage online that appears to show broken glass and damaged equipment scattered across the floor in a facility.

The report came after Israel announced a new wave of attacks on Tehran early hours of Monday local time.

Several hospitals and other health facilities across Iran have been damaged since US-Israeli strikes began on February 28."

Thank you for your feedback on the length of my post. It's generally considered that each poster gets to decide on the length of their own posts, and that it's not for individual posters to police how other users choose to express themselves.

My post was both about the particular observation from the OP and my experience of reading and posting on this board over a timeframe of well over two years now.

I really enjoyed your extra long post 😇

Also look at the difference in media and social media coverage between the bombing of a school in Iran that killed 170 and the bombing of an Afghanistan drug rehab centre by Pakistan that killed 400 patients.

I didn't see this. How absolutely awful. Can't keep up with all the suffering going on around the world 😭

Starmer has granted permission for American fighter jets to use British bases to strike Iranian forces blocking the Strait of Hormuz. Whatever happened to not getting involved?

Looking at an economy that’s about to be royally fucked by exponential oil price increases, I would expect.
