No you can't believe anything the regime says.

They are in a state of chaos and confusing it seems.

I think different factions ignore what the president of Iran says. He's not in control.

It’s probably general chaos and break down in control.

Maybe this is what it looks like when a regime breaks down (chaos).

I know he's the president, second in rank, but currently first since no supreme leader.

Yes, I agree.

Is there any news on potential successors who are more moderate.

"Iran's basic strategy is to instill fear about the dangers of a widening war in hopes that allies of the U.S. will apply enough pressure to halt their campaign. A protracted conflict, along with American and Israeli casualties, could also work in Iran's favor.

But the barrage-thy-neighbors strategy also could backfire."

Iran kills its own disenters, it cares less for citizens of other countries.

The president is only in charge of the secular part of the government. The revolutionary guard answer only to the supreme council.

Which has no leader or is about to apoint one. When no man has been chosen who covers the gap in power?

Iran has just flown a drone into a block of flats in Bahrain.

The President has since said he never said those things - but the BBC hasn't reported on that, maybe because they would find it hard to pretend that Iran isn't lying all the time. Much better to just get Zarah Sultana on to give her views instead

Kuwait airport, Saudi Arabia targeted as Iran presses Gulf attacks

Gulf nations reported on Sunday, March 8, missiles and drone attacks, while Iran vowed to press on with strikes against neighbouring countries as the regional war entered its second week. Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait all reported new attacks, after loud explosions were heard in Dubai and Bahrain's Manama a day earlier, and Kuwait's national oil company announced a "precautionary" cut to production.

Qatar's defence ministry said on Sunday that the country was targeted a day earlier by 10 ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles fired from Iran, but most of them were intercepted and caused no casualties.

Saudi Arabia's defensce ministry said Sunday it had intercepted and destroyed 15 drones that entered the kingdom's airspace, including six east of the capital Riyadh. Kuwait's military also said Sunday that it had responded "to a wave of hostile drones that penetrated the country's airspace."

Fuel tanks at Kuwait's international airport were targeted in a drone attack, the military added. It called the drone attack "a direct targeting of vital infrastructure.

UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in a rare televised address that the Emirates were in "a period of war" and "will emerge stronger" from it.
