Yeah I think leftists see it as a colonial project which I don’t really get because to me most of the islamic world is a colonial project, most people come from areas of the world where their own people probably engaged in warfare, colonialism, slavery etc etc. My own ancestors definitely did some invading and I’m not white.
The level of obsession people have over Israel vs all the muslims killed by other muslims (far outnumber the deaths over the decades in Gaza etc) suggests to me that there is a very specific hatred of Jews and Israel. I would have a different view if people even pretended to care about the dead in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan, China, Myanmar etc. something like 85,000 children under the age of five are thought to have died of starvation since the conflict in Yemen started, thats so unbearably tragic, it hurts your heart to read it. Yet no-one bats an eyelid.
